Embedded Systems Engineer (m/f/x) 1536

Join us in Duisburg as a Platform Specialist and play a key role in shaping our Embedded Linux–based Compute platform by developing, testing, and maintaining system configurations, BIOS settings and standard interfaces.

• Configure Ubuntu Linux systems for various hardware versions of the different embedded platforms using scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, etc.)
• Test, validate and deploy system configurations, ensuring compatibility, stability, and performance
• Troubleshoot platform issues and provide regular updates
• Develop C++ and script code for platform diagnosis
• Automate testing of standard interfaces (PCIe Gen 4/5/6, USB-C, Ethernet and I/O) to guarantee correct functionality across hardware revisions
• Work closely with firmware developers, system architects, and test engineers to ensure smooth platform integration
• Document configuration processes, test procedures, and results in a clear and structured way

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering with the ability to read and understand circuit and block diagrams
• Solid Linux system experience, Ubuntu preferred
• Hands-on experience with hardware testing using Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters
• Skilled at troubleshooting, debugging, analyzing system logs, and diagnosing platform-level issues
• Comfortable working in lab environments
• Programming skills, in particular C++, Shell and Python
• Good communication skills in English; German is a plus
• Methodical, detail-oriented, with a mindset for continuous improvement
